Showtime!
Born in Algeria in 1964, Philippe Parreno is a French artist who produces films, drawings, sculptures and installations. His works are diverse but all share the same goal: he is eager to play with the museum space, transforming the visitors’ experience and making it unreal. Through his installations, Parreno presents us with a true sensorial experience which, sometimes through light and sometimes through sound, enchants us and leads us into a world of pretence and fantasy. Parreno uses the language of cinema: feature films, catwalk lights, and special effects. And in the same way as cinema is fiction, Philippe Parreno’s objects deceive the visitor, opening doors into another world, waiting to be explored.
