Continuel lumière-cylindre was created by Julio Le Parc in 1962. In a completely dark room, a projector throws a ray of artificial light. This ray is then deviated by rotating plastic elements placed on the projector’s lens. Continuously divided up, it bounces onto an enormous circle of mirrors, creating enchanting reflections. Each viewer perceives the reflections in a different way, depending on his or her position or concentration. This work is typical of Le Parc’s work: moving, changeable and exciting.
