At first sight the sculpture resembles the codes of Classical sculpture, but it is actually pretty different. The young man portrayed, modelled on the body-shape of a friend of Ray’s, is not the idealized body of a God, but of an average XXI Century man. The material used is also interesting: stainless steel, that gives a great lightness to the sculpture while weighing hundreds of kilos.
